Choosing a vintage style coat rack

A vintage coat rack brings the look of an old hallway peg rail without the problems that come with a genuine antique. Real antiques are often loose at the joints, missing hooks, or finished in lead paint, and rarely the width you need. Ours are made new in our Halifax workshop to that same classic pattern, so you get the period character with the strength of solid wood and hooks that are fixed to hold.

The vintage feel comes from the proportions and the cast iron hooks, chosen to suit period homes, cottages and anywhere with a traditional hallway. A waxed or painted finish softens the look further, and a shelf above the hooks adds the touch you see on old station and schoolroom racks, a place for hats, keys and post.

Because every rack is made to order, you are not stuck with whatever size an antique happens to be. Tell us your wall width and hook count, from 2 up to 12, and we cut it to fit. Solid wood throughout, no MDF, built to outlast the original it takes after.
