Frequently asked questions

Are your wooden shelves suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes, our shelves are made from solid timber and finished by hand, making them suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. Just avoid direct water contact and they’ll stay looking their best.

How much weight can your floating shelves hold?

When installed into solid masonry or timber studs, our floating shelves can comfortably hold everyday items such as plates, jars, books and décor. Weight capacity always depends on wall type and fixings.

Do your shelves come with brackets and fixings?

Yes. Floating shelves include concealed fixings, while bracket shelves arrive with the metal brackets shown. All shelves come with the correct fixings for standard installations.

Can your shelves be fitted to plasterboard or stud walls?

Yes, most of our shelves can be installed on plasterboard walls, but weight capacity will be reduced compared to masonry walls. For plasterboard, we recommend using specialist heavy-duty fixings or securing into studs for the strongest hold. Always check your wall type before installation. Please note that our floating wall shelves are not suitable.

Do you offer bespoke sizes or custom lengths?

All of our shelves are handmade to order, so bespoke lengths are usually possible. If you need a specific size, just get in touch and we can advise on pricing and suitability.

What timber do you use for your shelves?

We work with solid oak and pine, all sustainably sourced and finished by hand. Each piece of wood has its own natural grain, character and markings.

Will the shelves show knots or natural wood features?

Yes, this is part of the charm of real wood. You may see natural grain patterns, small knots or slight colour variation. These details are not defects; they’re what make each shelf unique.

Can I use your shelves as storage shelves as well as display shelves?

Absolutely. Customers commonly use them for storing jars, bowls, books and toiletries, as well as for displaying photos, candles and decorative pieces.

Do you make small shelves for plants or compact spaces?

Yes, our small wooden shelves and mini ledges are ideal for plants, candles and tight areas where a full-length shelf won’t fit.

How should I care for my wooden shelves?

A light dust and occasional wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth is all they need. Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged water contact to protect the finish over time.
