What are bracket shelves?

Bracket shelves are wall shelves held up by visible brackets, in metal or wood, rather than hidden fixings. Because the weight goes through the bracket into the wall, they carry more than a floating shelf and suit kitchens, utility rooms, offices and anywhere you are storing heavier things.

Metal or wooden brackets?

Both are made to sit with the shelf, the choice is about look and load:

  • Metal brackets, in steel and industrial styles, clean lines and the highest load, suited to modern and industrial rooms
  • Wooden brackets, oak and pine in traditional, farmhouse and decorative styles, an all-timber look for country and classic interiors

Bracket shelves or floating shelves?

Both are solid wood. Bracket shelves show their support and carry more weight; floating shelves hide all fixings for a cleaner, minimal look with a lower load. Choose bracket shelves for heavier storage, floating shelves where the look matters most.

Oak or pine?

Every board is solid timber throughout, no veneer and no MDF core. Oak is denser with a finer grain for contemporary rooms and heavier spans; pine has a warmer, more rustic character. Made to order, so the size and finish suit your space, with bespoke board lengths cut to fit.
