Looking specifically for oak? See our oak floating shelves and oak shelves with brackets.

Not sure which type you need? The short answer: floating shelves for living rooms, bedrooms and anywhere the look matters more than heavy load capacity; bracket shelves for kitchens, utility rooms and offices where you're storing heavier items; corner shelves for rooms where you want storage without taking up wall run or floor space.

Oak or pine?

Every shelf in this range is solid timber throughout, no MDF core, no veneer. Oak is the denser option with a finer grain, better suited to contemporary and mid-century rooms and heavier loads on longer spans. Pine has more visible knots and grain movement, a warmer tone, and suits farmhouse, rustic and country interiors. Both are available in standard sizes and made to order for non-standard widths.

All shelves ship with fixings for standard solid masonry walls. If you're fixing into plasterboard or timber studs, get in touch before ordering, the shelf is the same, the fixings are different.

Frequently asked questions

What are wooden shelves?
Wooden shelves are solid timber shelves fixed to the wall. We make them in solid oak and pine across six styles, floating, bracket, corner, kitchen, bathroom and picture ledge, all handmade to order in Yorkshire.

Are your wooden shelves solid wood?
Yes, solid oak or pine all the way through, with no MDF core and no veneer, so they can be sanded and re-finished over the years rather than replaced.

Which type of wooden shelf should I choose?
Floating shelves for a clean, minimal look; bracket shelves for heavier loads; corner shelves for unused corners; kitchen and bathroom shelves for those rooms; picture ledges for leaning frames and art.

Can I order a bespoke size?
Yes. Every shelf is made to order, so we cut them to your wall. Send your measurements before ordering.

How are they fixed to the wall?
Fixings are included for solid masonry walls. On plasterboard or timber studs the shelf is the same but you will need fixings suited to that wall, so get in touch before ordering.
