A freestanding wooden vanity unit built around two drawers and an open shelf, handmade to order in our Halifax workshop. It's solid wood, not veneer or MDF, so it holds up to a working bathroom and can be re-waxed or sanded back over the years rather than replaced.

The two soft-close drawers give you proper closed storage for the things you'd rather not have on show, with a full-width open shelf below for towels and baskets. It comes with brass cup handles as standard, but they're yours to change โ€” fit any handle that suits your bathroom.

Made to your size in 600, 800, 1000 or 1200mm, or a bespoke width cut to fit the room and finished by hand in Light, Medium or Dark Wax. The top is designed for a sit-on basin and left undrilled, so your plumber sets the tap to whichever basin you choose (basin and taps not included).

Solid wood throughout, with a solid wood worktop โ€” no veneer and no MDF core, so there's no board to swell or de-laminate if water reaches it. Finished here by hand in your choice of wax (Light, Medium or Dark) for everyday bathroom use. Brass cup handles as standard, swappable for any handle you choose. As it's solid wood, the grain and natural colour vary from unit to unit โ€” that's the material, not a flaw, and it can be re-waxed or sanded back over the years rather than replaced.

GOOD TO KNOW

Made to order, so it's built for you rather than picked off a shelf. The two drawers are soft-close; the open shelf below keeps towels to hand. Basin and taps aren't included โ€” choose the fittings that suit your bathroom โ€” and the top is left undrilled so your plumber fits the tap. Being solid wood there's no MDF core to swell if water gets in; wipe standing water and top up the wax occasionally and it keeps its look for years.

INSTALLATION

Arrives fully assembled and freestanding โ€” it simply stands in place. The plumbing is a job for a plumber: the top is left undrilled and the back panel isn't pre-cut, so they'll drill the tap hole to suit your basin, route the pipework, and connect the waste and supply. Have your chosen basin and tap to hand before fitting.

How long will my order take

Most items are handmade and made to order. The current lead time is shown on the product page. You will also receive progress updates during production and dispatch.

What happens if there is a problem during delivery

If you experience an issue in transit, contact the customer service team and they will help you resolve it.

How do returns work

To start a return, email customer service with your order number and reason. Items must be securely packaged in the original packaging. Return shipping costs are usually paid by the customer, while defective or damaged returns are covered by Off the Grain. Refunds are processed after inspection.

Do you offer click and collect

Yes. Click and collect is available from the workshop and is free. Collection options vary by item size.

Can I get advice on finishes or matching items

Yes. Product and finish guidance is available. If you are unsure about finishes or matching pieces, contact the team and they will advise.
