Product description

Product Overview:

  • Oak shelf with decorative wooden brackets, handmade in our Yorkshire workshop
  • Supplied with matching solid oak decorative brackets
  • Traditional wall mounted shelf with shaped bracket detail
  • Shelf depth 15cm

Description:

This oak shelf is supplied with a matching pair of decorative solid oak brackets, all handmade in our Yorkshire workshop. The shaped bracket detail gives it a more traditional, character led look while still providing dependable everyday support.

The shelf depth is 15cm, offering practical storage for books, frames, plants, and decorative items without overwhelming the wall. The decorative brackets sit neatly beneath the shelf and add visual interest, making it well suited to living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and bedrooms.

Both the shelf and brackets are made from solid oak and finished to bring out the natural grain and tone of the wood. This design works particularly well in traditional and period style homes, or anywhere you want the brackets to be part of the feature rather than hidden.

Wall screws, wall plugs and timber pellets are supplied. Made to order in Yorkshire using solid oak throughout.

WOOD MATERIAL

Shelf & Brackets:
This shelf is supplied with matching decorative wooden brackets, all made from solid oak. The visible bracket design forms part of the overall look and is intended to be seen once installed.

Wall Fixings:
Fixings are not supplied, as the correct screws and wall plugs depend on your wall type and the load you intend to place on the shelf. For plasterboard walls, suitable plasterboard-rated fixings or fixing into studs should be used.

Wood Material:
Solid oak displays natural characteristics including grain variation, knots, and tonal differences. All sizes are approximate due to the nature of solid timber. These features are part of the material and make every shelf unique.

Colour Disclaimer:
Colours may vary slightly between screens and between pieces of oak. Natural variation is normal and does not constitute a manufacturing fault.

GOOD TO KNOW

Choosing your length

Lengths run from 30cm to 150cm in 10cm steps. If you are filling an alcove or a particular gap and none of those is right, we will make it to your exact measurement. Message us on WhatsApp with the size โ€” the button is on this page โ€” and we will sort it.

Where the brackets go

There is no preset position. You decide how far in from each end to fix them, so you can work around an alcove, a socket, or whatever needs to sit underneath.

Not sure which finish?

We can post you samples of all seven oak finishes so you can compare them at home. See the sample pack

Solid Oak

This shelf and its decorative brackets are made from solid oak throughout and handcrafted in our Yorkshire workshop. Oak is chosen for its strength, durability, and natural character.

All timber is sourced from FSC-certified suppliers, supporting responsible forest management. Natural grain variation, knots, and colour differences are expected and form part of the woodโ€™s character.

INSTALLATION

Fitting your shelf โ€” about 10 minutes

1. Fix the brackets to the wall. Each bracket has a keyhole cut into the back. Drill, push in a wall plug, and drive the screw home, leaving the head standing slightly proud. Hang the bracket on it, and check it is level before you fix the second one.

2. Sit the shelf on the brackets.

3. Screw the shelf down. There is a countersunk hole in the top of each bracket. Drive a screw up through it into the underside of the shelf. That stops the shelf shifting.

4. Cover the screw, or leave it showing. A timber pellet is supplied for each hole. It is pre-cut and will not be an exact grain match โ€” solid oak varies โ€” and it makes no difference to how it holds.

What is in the box

The shelf, two solid oak brackets, wall screws, wall plugs and the pellets. Every length comes with two brackets. Nothing else to buy.

Which walls

The supplied plugs and screws are for solid brick or block. On plasterboard, fix into the studs or use hollow-wall anchors rated for the load. We do not supply those, because the right one depends on what is behind your plasterboard.

What it will hold

Built for everyday use โ€” books, plants, kitchen jars. The shelf is 30mm solid oak and so are the brackets; what limits the load is the wall behind it. If you are planning to put something heavy on it, or you are not sure what your wall is, send us a photo and we will tell you straight.
