6 Seater Dining Tables

A 6 seater dining table seats six people comfortably and is usually between 150cm and 180cm long. Ours are handmade to order in solid oak and pine, cut to the exact length that suits your room, with a matching bench or chairs. Because we build to order, we can size a table to seat six in a smaller space, or give you room to squeeze in a couple more.

Every table is solid timber throughout, so it can be sanded and refinished over the years rather than replaced, and each one carries its own grain and character. Choose your wood, your finish and your leg style.

Choosing a 6 seater dining table

A 6 seater dining table needs enough length to give everyone room without crowding. As a rule of thumb, allow around 60cm of table edge per person, which puts most 6 seaters between 150cm and 180cm long and around 90cm wide. Every table here is made to order, so we cut it to the exact size your room allows.

Fitting six into a smaller room

Benches are the trick to seating six in less space. They tuck fully under the table when not in use, and let you slide in an extra person at each side, so a 6 seater with benches will often take seven or eight at a push. If floor space is tight, tell us the room size and we will size the table to suit.

Oak or pine

Oak is denser and harder wearing, with a finer grain that suits daily family use and longer tops. Pine is lighter and warmer with more visible knots, and leans into a country look. Both are solid timber throughout and built to the same sizes.

Each table is handmade to order in our Halifax workshop, finished by hand, and delivered free within mainland UK on a tracked service. Bespoke sizes are welcome, just send your measurements.

Tables are handmade to order, so please allow the lead time shown on each product. Delivery is free within mainland UK, on a tracked service and carefully packaged.
