This fireplace beam is made from solid oak, selected for its strength and natural grain. Each piece shows unique knots, grain movement and subtle variations in tone, giving every beam its own character.

The oak is sourced from FSC-certified suppliers and is carefully prepared and finished by hand in our Yorkshire workshop.

All our wooden fireplace beams are handcrafted from the finest solid oak. The timber that we use is air-dried and will display differing natural characteristics. Once installed in your home, the wooden beam will continue to dry out as it adapts to your home environment and could develop cracks and splits. All the beams in our 'Rustic' and 'Traditional' range are well dried ensuring that this is kept to a minimal. This is nothing to worry about and is not classed as a defect.  Should you wish to purchase a beam that will not move and display such characteristics, then please look at our 'Modern Range' which has been made from kiln-dried timber.

Installation

Heavy duty keyhole fixings are supplied with all our oak mantel beams. The keyhole fixings are routed and fixed into the back of the mantel beam before leaving our workshop, meaning that when installed your shelf will sit flush to your wall. Also included within the package is a wall fixing kit (wall plugs and screws) which can be used to install the beam on masonry walls or stud walls (where the timber uprights can be located). Please ensure that your beam is installed by a competent person or professional.

Oak is a combustible material and as a result should be positioned and installed a safe distance away from stoves and in line with HETAS regulations.

Colour Disclaimer

When viewing items online, colours can vary from one screen to another. Every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colours. In addition, wooden furniture will naturally have slight variations variations from one piece to another. Whilst every effort is made to match all colours and finishes, the variations mentioned are normal and do not constitute manufacturing faults.

This oak fireplace beam is designed for a floating installation using hidden keyhole fixings.

Each beam is supplied with the required fixings and can be mounted directly to a solid wall such as brick or masonry. Once installed, the fixings are concealed within the beam, creating a clean floating mantel appearance.

For best results, ensure the beam is fitted level and securely into suitable wall fixings. Installation into plasterboard walls requires appropriate heavy-duty fixings or timber support behind the wall.
