We believe that little changes add up to a big difference, and the little changes are something that we are very proud of here at Off The Grain. Off The Grain understands that the little changes we make now can leave the biggest impact when it comes to sustainability. We also know that this is really important to our customers and we work tirelessly to uphold our sustainability standards. While we have been working hard to improve our footprint behind the scenes, we have also taken time to reflect and to consider how we can be doing more. This is just the start of our sustainability journey, and we remain committed to doing and being better as a company.
Off Cuts
Unfortunately, we are unable to use all the timber that comes through the door. All the leftover wood is used in a positive way. Where possible, our off cuts are used to make some of our smaller products or samples. Any off cuts left are made into kindling and donated to help the elderly heat their homes in the local area.
Sawdust
We use extraction units to collect sawdust. This waste product is then donated to local farms to help with the upkeep of horses and other animals. This enables us to effectively recycle our wood waste, and provide a new life for a by-product of our furniture.
Solar Powered Workshop
We are lucky enough to hold premises that align with our sustainability principles, with over 200 kilowatts of solar panels on our industrial unit roof and utilising heating our new warehouse with biomass renewables.
Electric Delivery Vans
Our key delivery partner, DPD pride themselves on their fleet of electric delivery vehicles, and maintain the mission to be the most responsible and sustainable city centre delivery company and the leader in electric vehicles in the UK.
Sustainability Supply Chain
We pride ourselves on hand selecting suppliers that align with our sustainability values, from couriers to cardboard, timber to teabags - it all matters to us!
